Day 2

About

On Day 2 of the course, we will help you plan a PL event for your colleagues, Professional Learning Community and/or school community members. The Day 2 workshop will be held on the 16th November 2018 at the University of Newcastle's Callaghan campus. The sessions will be held in the HC47 computer lab, which in the Hunter Building at the Callaghan campus.

At the beginning of the workshop, you will introduce yourself to the group and let us know about the PL event/s that you are planning to run. You will also be given a copy of an event template to help guide you when planning your PL event.

During the Day 2 workshop you will learn about:

• a variety of resources that you could use and adapt for your PL event and/or for classroom teaching.
• guidelines for designing and running effective PL sessions
• ways of troubleshooting IT issues when teaching coding and computational thinking
• approaches for sharing your resources in a PL event (including creating a website with Google Sites)

At the end of Day 2, you will share your plans for your proposed PL event with the rest of the group.
