Developing Coding Hubs Course
About
In this course you will:
- choose an online module from a list of modules related to coding and computational thinking, which the CS4S team has curated
- complete the online module you have chosen with support from the CS4S team
- plan a professional learning event that you could run for your colleagues, to help them prepare for the Digitial Technologies strands in the new Science and Technology K-6 and Technology Mandatory 7-8 syllabuses
- gather resources for this professional learning event and learn about how to share these resources with colleagues
If you have completed one of our courses before, then you can complete Day 1 of the workshop online at a time and location that suits you. Otherwise, you should come to the sessions that we run at the University. We will help you with any questions you have about the online modules and can also provide some equipment (such as Makey Makeys, Microbits and Android tablets) for you to use when completing your chosen module.
Day 2 will take place in a computer lab at the the University of Newcastle's Callaghan campus. The second day will be focused on preparing a professional learning event for your colleagues, Professional Learning Community and/or school community members.
