Huan Yin received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University (ZJU), at Hangzhou, in 2016 and 2021, respectively. He was a visiting scholar at University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His Ph.D. work focused on robot localization and mapping, as well as autonomous navigation systems. After graduation, he worked at National University of Singapore (NUS) as a Research Fellow. Then he joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Research Assistant Professor. He is joining the School of AI and Robotics, Hunan University (HNU), as a faculty member.

He and his team won the Second Place of Kid-size Group of 2016 World RoboCup, 2020 Best Conference Paper Award from IEEE RCAR, 2022 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award of ZJU. He is a recipient of the 2025 NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas). He serves as an Associte Editor of IEEE ICRA (2022, 2024-2026), IROS (2026), and RA-L (2026-2028). His research interests include robotics, SLAM, robot perception and robot learning.
