Overview:
The 3rd and 4th grade team is dedicated to helping players master fundamental field hockey skills while fostering a love for the game. All players are encouraged to learn and enjoy playing alongside their friends in a supportive environment. There are no tryouts and no cuts, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate and grow. Throughout the season, players will engage in games against other teams in the Bitty Badgers division of the South Jersey Youth Field Hockey League, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a sense of community.
Schedule:
Practices begin in mid to late August and are held two evenings per week at either Recchino Field or Haddon Township High School. The season includes eight games played over a six‑week period beginning in early September. Games are held on Saturdays between 8am - 2pm. at Total Turf in Pitman or Gloucester Township Community Park. Final practice times and the full game schedule will be shared by your player’s coach by mid‑August.
Cost: Fee for this program is $150. A late fee of $15 applied after July 1st.
Required equipment:
Field hockey stick* (free sticks available to borrow if needed)
Shin guards
Mouth guard
Sneakers, turf shoes, or cleats (all games are on turf fields so cleats are not required)
* Players this age will likely need a 28″ – 33″ stick, depending on height. Stick should be hip height. We recommend going to HerSport in Cherry Hill for assistance with purchasing equipment.
Coaches: Volunteer coaches are highly needed - please indicate while registering if you are interested in helping!
