Astronaut Lacy Veach Day of Discovery is a FREE STEM event filled with activities, workshops, and demonstrations highlighting space exploration, Polynesian voyaging, rocketry, robotics, and hands-on educational opportunities designed for students in grades PK-12.

If you are interested in signing up for a workshop, you will need to pick up a Waitlist Ticket at the event.
Waitlist tickets will be given out to those who are not currently registered for a workshop.
A limited number of waitlist tickets will be available for all on-site workshops on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please read the following rules so you are prepared when you arrive:
Limited Spots: Each student participant is allowed ONE waitlist ticket (while space is available).
Grade Level Limit: Students in grades 3-12. Must be accompanied by an adult. Please make sure to select a workshop that is grade-level appropriate.
No Doubles: Student participants who are registered for a workshop ticket are ineligible for a waitlist spot. They may not swap workshop sessions.
Waitlist Process
Workshop Preference: Have ready your list of workshops in order of preference from 1 to 8.
Claiming a Ticket: Please head to the Workshop Check-In table on the day of the event to claim an available Waitlist Ticket. Waitlist Tickets will be given out based on availability. Session (morning or afternoon) swaps are not allowed.
Arrive Early: Participants must check-in at the assigned Workshop Room 15-minutes prior to the start of the workshop.
Called by Order: If space opens up for a workshop, Waitlist Ticket numbers will be called in the order they were reserved.
No Repeats: If your Waitlist Ticket number isn’t called, you are not eligible to sign up for another waitlist spot.
Want to participate in one of our workshops?
Workshops are 50 minutes long and run in two sessions. They are offered at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Please read the information below to ensure you have all the information you need and understand the expectations before signing up for a workshop.
Registration Limit: Students will be allowed to sign up for a maximum of ONE workshop only. Additional registrations will be invalid.

Check-In Process: If you are registered for a workshop, please head to the Workshop Check-In table on the day of the event to claim your ticket. Participants must check-in at the assigned Workshop Room 15-minutes prior to the start of the workshop to secure their spot.
NOTE: Workshop participants who do not check-in 15 minutes prior to the start time of the workshop risk forfeiting their spot. Once the workshop begins, no additional participants will be admitted.
Due to capacity limits, only the registered student and accompanying adult are allowed in the workshop.
