Computer Science Starts Early with Robotics is an initiative by the Hawai‘i Space Grant Consortium that brings computer science to life through hands-on robotics. This program supports elementary and middle school educators by providing sample lessons and projects that integrate robotics into core subjects such as Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. All resources featured were created by classroom teachers who participated in the program, offering real-world, classroom-tested activities for educators seeking to infuse STEM learning into their curriculum.
Grades K-8
VEX 123 was used in the implementation of the lessons and projects, however teachers may adopt other robotics platforms to teach the lessons and projects (ex. Sphero, Ozobot, Beebot, Code and Go Mouse etc.).
Lessons and projects are aligned with the Computer Science Teachers Association Standards.
