Over the years, our community has launched many innovative programs that helped ignite a passion for STEM and cultural discovery in students across Hawaiʻi. While these retired programs are no longer active, they remain an important part of our legacy, representing the creativity, collaboration, and commitment that continue to shape our work today.
We honor these efforts and the educators, volunteers, and students who made them possible. Their impact lives on in the inspiration they've sparked and the paths they’ve paved for future generations of learners.
Future Flight Hawaii (1991–2015) was a hands-on, space-themed STEM program that engaged over 9,000 students and parents across Hawaiʻi. Through simulated space missions and camps on four islands, participants explored science, technology, and problem-solving while building teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
FESTival Nights (Families Exploring Science Together) is a hands-on program that encourages parents and children to explore science as a team. It fosters strong home/school partnerships, promotes scientific thinking, and helps parents support their child’s interest in STEM through fun, engaging learning experiences.
