Students will build different combinations of gear boxes.
Have students use two 4x12 plates to sandwich the gear levels together. Attach a wheel to the driver axle to turn the gears.
Once the students have drawn the gearbox, calculated the gear ratio, built the gear box, and demonstrated to the teacher, the teacher will stamp their notebook and they can move on to the next question.

GR = 5/9 Less torque, more speed
GR = 1/3 Less torque, more speed
GR = 9/25 Less torque, more speed
GR = 25 More torque, less speed
GR = 1/9 Less torque, more speed
GR = 3/25 Less torque, more speed
