This artwork is conceptual and one of a kind. This artwork began to come to life on a hot sunny day in May. A beautiful Gulmohar tree had bloomed in our garden. I was excited to see such a picturesque view and wanted to paint it on a piece of paper. I did research on the tree before getting to the paints and brushes. I wanted to know what was the reason behind such beautiful colors, and what other elements I could add to the painting, that is when I came across this story, which goes as-
When Jesus Christ was being crucified there was a small plant of Delonix regia (also known as Gulmohar tree). A few drops of Jesus Christ's blood fell on the plant, and when the plant grew, it bloomed and had beautiful bright, red flowers. Thus, The Beginning of the existence of beautiful red flowers we find today in our gardens.
This painting is a mixed media painting of charcoal, acrylic paints, and a touch of glass colors.
Magazine cover page for Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, for the year 2017-18. The topic for the year was "Zenith". The wheel in the center is the school symbol. It is spreading multiple colors all over, representing the qualities taught at the institution needed to groom a better human being. The two children at the bottom represent the young students at the school, enjoying getting drenched in these wonderful colors. The birds represent the grown-up individuals who are flying to the top of the mountain, towards Zenith.
This artwork started as a fine art approach towards studying the form of a horse, and the rendering of the form in charcoal pencils. While working on the artwork I studied the work of world-renowned Indian artist M.F. Hussain, and his representation of horses. The abstract representation of the same animal was something totally opposite from my approach. This artwork was a learning curve for my future artworks.
The second half of the horse is a continuation of the animal but done with the use of ink, with no proper form or rendering. If observed closely, there are horse heads as drawn by Sir M.F. Hussain. It represents that every artwork must have a thought process of the artist. Thus my artwork is a mixture of both abstract and fine art, with splashes of ink as well as the smooth rendering of the head.
