HRCO is a grassroots collective rooted in community defense, cultural memory, and collective care. Organizing on Payómkawichum land, our work is grounded in the belief that civil and human rights must be upheld for all people.
We organize with and for dignity, justice, and safety through education, advocacy, mutual aid, and cultural organizing. We are not a nonprofit or legal organization. We are neighbors building community protection together, fueled by comunidad and guided by memory, with roots in Oceanside’s everyday power.
We organize from:
Direct response and rapid support when harm reaches our communities
Deep relationships built on trust and shared responsibility
Intergenerational wisdom, culture, and the strength of memory
Local action rooted in the belief that we are enough as we are and where we are
