Connecting your HP printer to a computer via Wi-Fi lets you print wirelessly from anywhere on your home or office network. Whether you're using Windows or macOS, the setup process only takes a few minutes.
The easiest way to connect your HP printer is with the HP Smart App.
Turn on your HP printer.
Connect your computer to your Wi-Fi network.
Install and open the HP Smart App.
Click Add Printer.
Select your HP printer from the list.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Print a test page to confirm the connection.
If your HP printer has a touchscreen:
Open Wireless or Network Settings.
Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
Choose your Wi-Fi network.
Enter your Wi-Fi password.
Wait until the printer connects successfully.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Click Add device and select your HP printer.
Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
Click the + button and choose your HP printer.
If your printer doesn't connect:
Make sure the printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Restart your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on the printer.
Update your HP printer drivers if necessary.
