A heavily armored beetle, with grossly exaggerated tibial spikes to make it difficult to swallow or properly attack.  

They bear convergency to the armored herbivore niche, showing us the choice to fight is also within our choice and ability to defend.

The pinnacle of protection, this impervious creature maximized everything on an nigh-indestructible exoskeleton.
