The Stats Tab

Here you can find your stats, sorted by game type and number of players. Click on the little !s to see a brief description of each stat.

Now, I know that for many people who are newer to mahjong these numbers have little context, and don't really explain much. Is this a good number or a bad number? Lets look at some of the more important, non self evident stats. I went through the stat pages of all the current Legend players on the server, and will have their averages as something of a goal you can aim for! You can also look at my stats as stats to outperform as someone who is really kind of at a "1st level boss who is a just a regular enemy defeated in a few hits once you get past the beginning of the game" level of skill :)

Win Rate: The percentage of  how many hands you win divided how many you've played. If  there are 4 players, then you'd expect to win 25% of the time, but  since you can have draw games, the stat is closer to 20% on average.  The Legend Win Rate average is 24.01%. A strong number to shoot for is 22-23%. If yours is like mine, a little low, then studying tile efficiency, proper calling of tiles, and learning how to build your hand cautiously yet confidently will help you increase those numbers!

Deal-In Rate: The percentage of how many hands you have dealt someone else's winning tile divided by how many hands you've played. This stat is probably the most representative of strength. Dealing in is the worst thing you can do in Mahjong, so being able to avoid doing so is incredibly valuable. The Legend Deal In Rate average is 11.77%.  A strong number to shoot for is 11-13%. If yours is a little high, then it's time to learn about defense, including learning suji and how to read your opponents discards as context clues for the kind of hand they have.

Fuuro Rate: The amount of hands you've opened your hand divided by the amount of hands you've played. This stat is very closely tied to individual expression, so there's a very wide range that's tolerated as acceptable unless you know what you're doing. The Legend Fuuro Rate average is 34.87% (highest 42.09%, lowest 28.12%). If your fuuro rate is less than 10% you are most likely not calling enough, developing your hand too slowly, and if it's higher than 40%, you may be calling too much, which will generally cheapen your hand. When thinking about the way you approach improving your other stats, this stat will itself likely shift around to reflect your player priorities.

Riichi Rate: The amount of hands you've declared riichi divided by the amount of hands you've played. If your Fuuro Rate is high, this is likely lower, and vice versa. This is also a stat that is more a reflection of personal preference or tendency. The Legend Riichi Rate average is 19.45% . If your Riichi Rate is above 25%, you may be declaring Riichi too much (as in, declaring riichi in situations where your odds are so low that you should not invest the point stick).

Avg. Score: The average points you win for every hand that you have won. This reflects your knowledge of yaku, as well as using dora in your hand. The Legend Avg. Score is 6005. If your average score is under 5000, you may want to brush up on your yaku and build more expensive hands in order to make confident surges into the winners circle!  (Here's an extra hint: this means you should try to win with at least 3 han on average)

1st/2nd Place Rate: The amount of games you've come in 1st or 2nd divided by the amount of games you've played. If you're concerned with climbing the ranked ladder, there is no stat more important to you than this one. In Riichi City, positive advancement up the ladder comes when you finish first or second, so you must aim to bring this stat above 50%. The Legend 1st/2nd Place Rate average is 60.22%.
