1-Round Challenge

Introduction

One round to spin the wheel. Is it your lucky day? The 1-Round Challenge is a "slot machine" style mode added recently. In it, 3 players play a special single hand game, where the goal is to win with the highest hand you can build. The ruleset is similar to sanma, but there's extra red 5s, and instead of Nukidora, North Wind is just universally a yaku worth 1 han (like a set of dragons). You will need to build at least 4 han to profit off a win in this mode.

Premium vs Non Premium Entry

Now on its own, this mode is a fun time sink that can give you a lot of coins if you get lucky, but it gives you the ability to pay and compete for the premium cash currency, Vouchers. I subscribe to the monthly mascot, which gives you 70 Vouchers every day you log in. When I'm flush with Lucky Tokens and don't really have much desire to draw from the current Gacha, I like to give Voucher Match a single spin, and see if I can get lucky. The top 100 "lifetime earners" in either mode can be seen by clicking the Rank tab on the left.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ: So yes, you can essentially wager "real" gacha money on this mode. That being said, your chances of "going infinite" are of course as low as they are on any card game app where you pay and win premium currency. Please play responsibly!

Tips

So a few tips from a guy who's still in the top 100 lifetime winnings from this mode:

* Don't worry about defense in this game mode. If you're not first, you're last! It really doesn't matter if you deal in. Just focus on making that whopper hand!
* Opening your hand is very risky. Only do so if you are building a Honitsu hand with one or two Yakuhai or Dora, or ideally Dora Yakuhai. Riichi and Uradora is a lot of value that's left on the table when you call, so have a specific plan for those 4 han if you do.
* Getting some of your entry back is better than getting nothing. Sometimes, your hand is simply not going to make it to 4 han without miracle Uradora. That's alright, just focus on getting the win and creating that opportunity. Even if you don't make all your entry fee back, you can at least make a partial recovery!
