I've played mahjong on and off for almost 20 years. I'm a Team Raiden fan. My favorite JPN professional organization is Saikouisen.

I decided to make this little fan resource because I believe that Riichi City is currently one of the best mahjong apps we have access to in English, one that I feel is undervalued in the West. I wanted to create an easy onboarding website that put the proper shine on my favorite features, as well as get a little bit of extra experience writing about riichi mahjong in an introductory way. If you feel this website was helpful, please share it with your friends! I am trying to increase the Western population of the app, especially at the higher levels.

On Bluesky, I maintain a custom feed that lets all ENG/JPN users see all the mahjong related posts on the website. You can find that here. It's my wish that all mahjong enthusiasts learn a little bit more about each other and about the mahjong industry not as a game you play on gated apps, but as a cultural experience that you can have all around the world. Mahjong is bigger than these apps! Let's all get out there and mahjong communicate!
