Making a Group

You can create a group in K12 for a number of reasons. You might use groups for differentiation, or want to invite a small group of students for a club. For now, though, our classes aren't in K12 yet, so we need a group for each class period.

In any case, here are the steps.

  1. Get to the LMS (the back end of K12). You can do this by clicking the "link" icon in the top-left of your Dadeschools

  2. Click the dropdown by "Students" on your top bar, then click "My Groups." This will show your current groups. Click "Create New Group" on the top right.

  3. Add a group name and description. This is student facing, so make sure you're okay with students seeing it!

  4. Click "Select members" on the top right to add kids.

  5. You can filter on the screen by school, role (students/teachers), grade level, or special programs, and click "Apply."

  6. Click the participants you want for your group.

  7. Click "Save and Close," and then "Create Group."
