Hough & District WI’s laid a wreath during a brief and poignant service outside the Village Hall. Thank you to all who attended.
Also thanks go to Mandie for setting the mood by hanging some of her painted wooden poppies on our apple tree today. Knitting or Crocheting for Local Community
Primrose House Care Home, Haslington
(Kindly note that Leighton Hospital are no longer collecting items for the Paediatric Ward)
Required are knitted or crocheted knee rugs. Viv P to coordinate
Required: Size 8 needles. Any double knitting wool.
To knit one square cast on one stitch. Then increase to two stitches. Turn these and increase at alternate ends until the squares measure 6 inches across at the widest point. Now decrease by 1 stitch at alternate ends until you are left with 1 stitch. Cast off. (These are mini versions of our baby blankets for Leighton).
The finished product should be no smaller than 30’ x 36’. Use flat stitch to join them together.

Knitting for Leighton Hospital September 2021
Pat & Maggie have just delivered 56 blankets, 300 hats and 62 jackets to the neo-natal unit at Leighton Hospital. The previous delivery was in April 2020.
