Recommended number of players for sure it should be more then 5 since i think the hard part will be to figure out how to match the schedule of 10 people.

I think we should focus on our hashtag some this week and figure out what we want. We can require the use of the hashtag in the stream title. I'm also working on a badge "Proud participant of" for their various social media.

I remember thing in overwatch once that if you put a hashtag in your title you got the change to make it on a team or something, I don't know how it worked, was it automated, does doing a hastag in your title trigger something in twitter?

Oh this gives me an idea! What I wanted is that each team takes care of posting their matches, its important that they can do it themselves without having to go through me and you, so that link you found made me realize that I'll just create a web page where I'll give editing rights to all team captains and they'll just update it with their match ups :D I'll set it up tomorrow at lunch

1. After X week, announce that there will be a "WTF Moments" dedicated to the League, Invite spectators to submit clips, should maybe require teams to submit their match replays? Contact the major youtube channels that do this kind of stuff and see who will have exclusibility over the event.

• gives an edge to this tournament which lets viewers see 'behind the scene' and shows people how teams behave in a competitive environment, something no highly competitive teams would do in fear to show their secrets.
• Very educational for viewers that want to learn and understand strategies from the source.
• Would filter out super competitive teams from the tournament since these types of teams won't want to give away their secret strategies, and therefore keep the tournament a casual edge
• More interesting 'clips' can be generated from watching the streamers directly and can be used to create hype on twitter?
• sounds like a plan. whatever works for me we can always change the way it's done later if it doesn't

I think that having a caster stream the tournament might be a good idea. I'm not certain tho. In my head, for the matches, each streamer would host the caster. This makes the job of casting more alluring. However, there may be a reason this is not the best way to set it up.

Thats a good idea too thats what most tournament would do (I just reread what I wrote and I just want to make sure that you understood that what I was thinking was that it would be the Captain streaming their view) . We should definately have a converstation about this, after , we could also add this as a question in the sign up form, see what the people that are signing up for the tournament think :).

I worry that having the Captain stream their own view while trying to compete may be difficult. Do you share these concerns? Chat is a distraction and also, for a tournament, couldn't this be considered cheating? I defer to your decisions on these types of things since I have no experience, but I'm never afraid to ask questions.

Yes you are right about having the captain streaming their own games , it can be touchy, but its not cheating :), the worry is that they might get prouned to cheating by spying on opponents during the game, but they wont be able to do that without being caught because they are getting streamed. I've participated in a tournament once that I streamed, but we had to put minimume of 6 min delay, at the time I was using xSplit to stream, which had the option, I don't think OBS has it though...

I was thinking of asking the Lady TL group to maybe hangout in discord a little after our games tuesday , maybe throw some ideas at them.

Up to now, i think the only reason why we wouldn't ask streamers to stream their point of view would be the fear of cheating, stream delays can take care of that problem. IF that is not an option, just the fact that everyone is streaming and being monitored will disuade cheating (imagin a streamer being caught cheating, what it would do to their reputation, just too risky to do) The other reason would be that people don't want other people to know their strategies, but I think as a hole, being able to see everyones strategies is just going to help increase the quality of the games, in the sense that people will learn from eachother and bring the tournament to a hole new level of game play.

Again I hope to get other points of views tonight from the Ladies.

You talked about a "school" theme in a twitter message you sent me. I thought about it during the day and I didn't even think about having a theme, I was just thinking of colors and having a modern style to it. But I like the idea of a theme, since its a streaming tournament, maybe have some streaming elements , twitch emotes, webcam, light spots, green screen, etc (just throwing ideas) Mainly this theme would be felt in at the top of each page, where we can put a background picture for the title section, then we'd have the rest of the page match the colors of that title background.

This just made me think about how they did the Heroes for Charity event. They created their own Twitch just for that. I had never considered doing that for our tourney idea, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think maybe if this becomes an established thing that is worth? I'm not so sure. sounds like it could just be a lot of work. Thoughts?

  • Jazzy had wanted to against the idea of listing mmr, I understand that it can make matchmaking easier for us. do you have any additional thoughts? I'm still going to make this change.
  • Actually it was just out of curiousity, this type of info wouldn't be public, but I read the <Guide to Make a Team Page< Notes and maybe we should require a maxium team mmr, and use this info to justify.
  • I like the idea of having a min or max mmr, but I worry that might exclude players. TBH when I've played this game and there is a skill gap, it makes the game so unfun. So while I worry about excluding players, I feel that the benefits of this suggested MMR range may outweigh the cons.
  • There wouldn't be a max mmr per player, the way i see it, you add up the mmr of the team and you divide by 5, meaning if you have a 3200mmr person on your team, you'll need a very low mmr person to balance out the average? This mmr thing would by per match, the 5 players that will be playing must respect the mmr we'd choose. But first, we must decide if we want to do this.

It also makes the team building less stressful since streamers will be encouraged to get people of all lvl, and therefor give the illusion that anybody, even low mmr , can be useful on a teams. but I 'd like to see what the Ladies think, maybe there is someting we are not seeing

Also, I don't think we should set the 'Times available to compete' sectio to 'Required' because I feel like it might change a lot and anyway we are not going to be responsible to set up their matches, they will be responsible to contact their opponent captains and figure things out.

Right now I think we are working towards something Stream Fighters related. I absolutely love the ideas this gives me as far as theme and design for each streamer/page.

Teams are made up of 4 community members and one streamer.

The streamer is the team captain and is responsible for shot-calling and training their team.

One of my fears is that there will be some really strong teams and some really weak teams. I'm not sure how to approach this issue.

Is this something we should address? Or just leave it be? Should we suggest a team maximum "average mmr" ?

This is an interesting point. While competing, notifications can be distracting, however I don't think we should require them to be turned off. Liek recommend, but not make it a rule? We do need to capitalize on the streamers ability to advertise for us. I think we should focus on our hashtag some this week and figure out what we want. After 10min of pause, the problematic player must be replaced by a substitute player that will respect the MMR Budget Rule.

If no replacements are possible? Try to reschedule, match will be defaulted, continue to play with ai? Can eventaully be retaken during a 'bye' round?

I don't think we should worry yet about being too strict with this. I think each team gets 3 pauses and after that no more pauses. If there is a player that is disconnecting or whatever, then their team must forfeit if a replacement cannot be found for the next game.

Each team gets 3 pauses per match. After all 3 pauses have been used, there will be no additional pauses. If a player disconnects during a match, that player must be replaced with an approved substitute from the team roster prior to playing the next game.

I looked at the ESL and HGC rules and came up with this

1. In the case a player disconnects or has technical issues, it is allowed to use the pause. In all other cases, both teams have to agree to a pause of the game in all chat. (ref eslgaming rule)
2. It is recommended to have the players recap internally what was going on in the game for 1min before restarting the game.
3. To unpause a game is only allowed if both teams agree to it in all chat or a pause lasted longer as 10 minutes and no further agreements were made. (ref eslgaming rule)
4. If a team unpausing the game without comfirmation of their opponent, the team that unpaused will get a "lost" for that match.
5. It is prohibited to have a strategy discussion while a pause.
6. Teams may pause a total of 3 times per game. The amount of pause time must not exceed 10 minutes per game per team. (ref gosugamers HGC rules)
7. In the case a longer pause being needed, the opponent has to agree it, otherwise will the match continue. (ref eslgaming rule)

Need to clearly define these, look at what other tournaments do-- those found guilty of cheating will be flogged then publicly disgraced on Social Media. On a more serious note, I think we should just say something like, "Any team found guilty of cheating will be barred from all future events." -- added

2. banned from all participating Twitch channels.
