Dr. Karthik Subramanian delivered an invited talk titled “Distinct Extracellular Vesicle Subtypes Orchestrate Toxin Spread and Immune Responses During Pneumococcal Infection” at the Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Extracellular Vesicle (InSEV), held from 2 - 4 April 2026 at BRIC – Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar.

Aswathy C S received a travel grant to participate in EVOLVE 2026 held at BRIC - Institute of Life Sciences from 2 - 4 April 2026, where she presented a poster titled “Divergent Host-Derived Extracellular Vesicle Subtypes Shape Differential Immune Responses in Pneumococcal Infection.”

Dr. Karthik Subramanian delivered an invited talk on "Identification of Bacterial Kinase Inhibitors as Potential Anti-Microbials for Pneumococcal Infections" at ALARM 2024, Amrita Legion for Antimicrobial Resistance Management, an International Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance organized by Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri, Kollam in association with Centre for Excellence in Microbiome (CoEM), Govt. of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. 

Dr Karthik Subramanian delivered an invited lecture on "Basics of EV and its classification" at the International Two-Day hands-on workshop on 'Biomanufacturing and Characterization of Extracellular Vesicles for Biomedical Applications' conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) on October 2024.

Dr Karthik Subramanian delivered an invited lecture on "Host-extracellular vesicles drive pore-forming toxin mediated pathogenicity during pneumococcal infection" at the 51st annual meeting of Indian Immunology Society (IMMUNOCON-24) conducted on 17th  to  20th  October, 2024 at J.N. Tata Auditorium, IISc, Bengaluru. 

Ms. Aswathy C S, our PhD candidate, presented a poster on "Host extra-cellular vesicles containing pore-forming pneumolysin toxin elicit pathogenicity during streptococcal infection" at the 51st annual meeting of Indian Immunology Society (IMMUNOCON-24) conducted at IISc, Bengaluru. All the best to Aswathy for her future endeavors.

Dr Karthik Subramanian delivered a lecture titled "Toxic encounter: Host extracellular vesicles transmit bacterial pore-forming toxin and mediate inflammation within the host" at the 2nd RGCB Research Conference held at Zuri Kumarakom Resort from 25th -28th September 2024. 

Dr Karthik Subramanian delivered an invited lecture on "Host-Extracellular Vesicles in Pneumococcal Infections—Small Entities With Big Impact" at the prestigious 2024 Streptococcal Biology GRC, which was held at Grand Summit Hotel in Sunday River, Maine, United States, from August 11th to 16th. DST-SERB also awarded him an International Travel Grant for the same - hearty congratulations to Dr Karthik.
