I am looking forward with great anticipation to the upcoming photo expedition. This is the perfect opportunity for cell phone photography enthusiasts! ("Real" cameras welcome also.) Following is detailed information regarding the logistics of the event. Currently Planned Itinerary:
Optional early bird arrival Friday Jan 23rd - Afternoon arrival in Everglades City. Check in to accommodations. Late day/sunset shoot at the nearby large bird rookery that has an observation tower. Dinner at a restaurant.
Saturday Jan 24th - Meet at a designated location and proceed together to an Everglades sunrise photo shoot, morning driving tour photo shoot in Everglades. Picnic lunch provided in the field. Late-day break followed by dinner at a restaurant. Night sky photo shoot in Big Cypress, weather permitting.
Sunday Jan 25th - Morning paddling on the Turner river. Lunch at a restaurant. Afternoon Big Cypress flora/fauna driving tour photo shoot. Late afternoon break and photo processing time. Dinner at a restaurant followed by an evening social gathering and image exhibition.
Monday January 26th- Check out from accommodations and drive to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary for a midday photo walk. Leave from there to go home.
You can reserve your spot on the expedition for ($500). I will provide your choice of a secure credit card link or a Venmo option for payment. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation/accommodations/meals/incidentals.
There will be a few spots available in my truck to ride along during daily excursions. First come first served for the available spots The truck is a good observation/shooting platform in many locations.
Everglades City is where we will be based out of for this adventure. It is a small, rustic town and there are no major hotel chains there. There are a few motels, several of which have the same ownership. There are lots of RV-campervan and tent sites in the area if that sort of thing appeals to you. There are Airbnb/VRBO options there also.
