Your Guide & Instructor

JR (Jim) Sykes is an award-winning freelance photographer/videographer, operates a studio in Historic Hyde Park - Tampa, FL, teaches photography/videography and leads affordable guided photo/video tours for persons of all skill levels in locations throughout the United States several times a year and has been doing so for 25 years. In addition to publicly offered tours, private tours and workshops for individuals and small groups can be arranged by request.

JR has over 35 years of professional photography experience in multiple fields:  product, real estate, event, commercial/corporate, landscape/fine art, travel, model, wedding, and portrait photography. His commercial work has been published in numerous books, magazines, posters, catalogs and other media. His fine art is displayed in homes, offices, and board rooms, as well as government, military, and public institutions. One of his prints was presented as a gift from the City of Tampa to the President of Liberia. JR is President Emeritus for Life of the Tampa Bay Camera Club, is an organizer of  The Tampa Bay Strobist and Photoshop Collective, and member of other photography organizations in the Tampa Bay Area.

JR is also a professional photography competition judge and photography teacher and has taught classes, workshops, and seminars throughout the United States in person and via the internet. Private lessons/tutoring are available in person and via Zoom by request.
