To spread awareness about Balance Over Burnout at the start of our project, we promoted our account and mission at the TMHS Homecoming Game. Additionally, we gained significant attention when we created a reel featuring photos taken that day. This promotional event helped us grow our audience while also spreading our message about choosing a balanced lifestyle over burnout.
On November 5th, also known as National Stress Awareness Day, we distributed stress toys and various trinkets to both students and teachers. Through this activity, we shared a simple stress-prevention tip: using a fidget or stress toy can be an effective coping strategy. Additionally, we included photos from this event in an informational post about stress that provided background information, discussed its impact, and highlighted coping strategies for stress prevention.
As Thanksgiving Break approached, we hosted a gratitude social in collaboration with Hope Squad. Through our presentation, we shared information about our account, tips for maintaining balance and preventing burnout, and how practicing gratitude can be a protective strategy against burnout. During the event, we also reinforced the benefits of gratitude by giving students sticky notes to write down something they were grateful for.
The sticky note wall, also known as the gratitude wall, began at the Hope Squad social, where students were encouraged to write down what they were grateful for in order to practice habits that can help prevent burnout. This activity lasted for a week, and the final photo shows the results at the end of the week, highlighting how many people participated and got involved. Overall, this initiative was especially meaningful for our school during the Thanksgiving season, as it encouraged students to prevent burnout by practicing gratitude.
