Pore Pressure, Slope Stability, and Tsunami Studies

Much of my research has focused on assessing both the cause and consequences of elevated pore fluid pressure in marine sediments. For this work, I typically integrate drilling core and well logging data with seismic data and numerical models to quantify pore pressure and pore pressure evolution. I use this information to answer questions like

Can we use seismic P-wave and S-wave data to estimate over-pressure in marine sediments? (for example, see this)

Are some deep marine sediments critically over-pressured and potentially creeping? (for example, see this)

How might we quantify and assess slope failure and tsunami hazards? (see for example, this, this and this)
