Initiatives

Hospital Care Packages

Care packages are the main focus of this initiative. I have put together multiple care package drops for the Royal Hobart Hospital child and adolescent unit and psychiatric wards. These packages include activities, treats, self-care and toiletry items that can be used while on these wards. The intention of these packages is to provide hope and opportunities for entertainment and self-care while in treatment.

"I just wanted to reach and express my gratitude on behalf of all the patients that were given these packages. What a wonderful gesture, brightened the day of all the recipients...We would gladly accept any packages that you have for donation in the future."

-Rebecca Fry, Occupational Therapy Assistant for the MHIU at the Royal Hobart Hospital

Community Care Packages

I create community support packs specifically designed to help individuals who are struggling with panic attacks, anxiety attacks, self-harm, depressive episodes, or other mental health crises. These packs are crafted with compassion and intention to offer practical, comforting support during moments of acute emotional distress, when people need it most. They have previously been delivered personally in and around Hobart and posted interstate for no charge. As we move forward shipping costs may need to be covered for some regions due to lack of funding!

Each pack focuses on simple, effective tools and resources that promote grounding, self-soothing, and emotional regulation. These resources are meant to help people develop healthier coping strategies and take small, manageable steps toward emotional stability and long-term resilience.

More information can be found about each pack via the "get a pack" page or on my instagram!

"It's inspired me to try and be better for myself and my circle. I've found it hard to open up to people and impulse is something I've struggled with since day dog."

Lifeline's Out of the Shadows Walk (2024)

In September I participated in Lifeline's Out of the Shadows Walk alongside some of my beautiful friends. This walk raises funds and awareness for suicide prevention and allows those lost to suicide to be remembered and honored. We raised just under $300 for Lifeline to connect 6 people's calls to a Lifeline crisis worker.

"I received Tilly's flyer in my letterbox. Very impressed with your bravery in explaining why this issue means so much to you, and your willingness to step up (literally!) to help others. "

Christmas (2024)

The festive season is a special time but for Australian individuals and families in difficult circumstances it can be a tough time. The initiatives of Hope Unfinished are designed to make Christmas better for more people!

Christmas gifts for children, teens and adults plus food items to make Christmas hampers were  collected in November and December, these items were donated to the Salvation Army Kingborough-Huon Corps and distributed to families doing it tough over Christmas.  In total $191 worth of toys and $242 worth of groceries were donated.

"Because of you, Matilda, tomorrow will be filled with joy, warmth, and hope for so many people in our community."
