ABOUT US

The HOPE HOUSE was established to provide men suffering from the disease of addiction a REAL chance for recovery, and to

". . . give HOPE for a future. . ."

Jer. 29:11

The program offered by the HOPE HOUSE aspires to be of such a quality that no better recovery residence can be found or made available.

The community fostered by the HOPE HOUSE nurtures and sustains an atmosphere of rehabilitation that frames a

life of recovery as a fun worthwhile

endeavor

The goal of the Hope House is to provide a solid foundation in recovery upon which to experience a life free from active addiction

The HOPE HOUSE mission is accomplished through a program that teaches others how to live life on life’s terms using the twelve steps of recovery as a starting point while providing a long term, acceptable and safe environment in which to learn.

The Hope House is successful, and

the Athens-Clarke County recovery community

at large has found the program credible and effective when combined with going to 12 step meetings, getting a sponsor, and working the steps,

It is a best of breed when compared with

the others of its type.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

HOPE HOUSE RECOVERY, INC.

is ever guided by principles behind the

Twelve Steps of Recovery:

Honesty, Hope, Faith,

Courage, Integrity, Willingness, Humility,

Forgiveness, Atonement,

Discipline Awareness & Service

The principles are on full display when the Hope House takes action to:

● Provide support services and access to avenues of treatment for individual Guests and families experiencing the effects of a substance abuse disorder

● Educate the community on substance abuse disorder focusing on prevention, treatment, and recovery and steps to prevent relapse.

● Collaborate with all sectors of the community to seek and implement solutions for reducing substance abuse and preventing relapse.

● Support the advocacy of substance abuse prevention as well as treatment through education and training.

● Participate, advocate, and lobby for recovery on a broader stage to regional, county, state, and federal organizations.

In the early '00s, the community flourished. It is considered the Hope House's first Golden Age of Brotherhood in recovery.

Join us as another golden age is dawning!

The current HOPE HOUSE Chairman of the Board, Matt Minshew, and the HOPE HOUSE Program Director and General Manger Mr. Keith Pearson.

After more than 15 years, Matt stepped back a little from the daily routine of the Hope House because of unrelated health concerns.

Due to the sterling reputation arising out of his unblemished integrity as well as an impeccable standing in the recovery community at large, Keith was tapped to be the Program Director and General Manger on Matt's semi retirement.

Prior to his Hope House position, Keith worked in a State treatment center overseeing clients in the 28 day inpatient treatment program there. This experience was perfect for his role at the Hope House..

Now, Keith is responsible for day to day operations at the Hope House. For the last 6 years, he is usually the first person a potential guest speaks to or a newcomer meets upon admission who represents the Hope House. He is the one who answers. (The phones when they ring.)
