I started hooping in 2012 while working at the Eastside YMCA in Penfield, NY. I was never a coordinated or athletic person, but I loved to dance. Hooping was a way for me to work out while having fun!
Hooping has given me a reason to take care of my body. It has inspired me to think about exercise as a way to challenge and nurture my body - not to punish it, or to get rid of parts of it. My hope is that you will give hooping a try, just to have a little fun with your workout! Hooping can open the door to a healthy relationship with your body and with exercise. It's a great combination of dance, cardio, toning, and fun - come check it out!
