Honeoye Art Walk
Welcome to the Honeoye Art Walk!
Nestled in the heart of the Town of Richmond, the Hamlet of Honeoye is proud to celebrate the vibrant creativity of our local artists. The Art Walk on Main Street is a vibrant initiative funded by the Ontario County COVID Relief Grant. This project aims to highlight local artists by showcasing their work and emphasizing the town's dedication to providing a vibrant cultural experience for everyone.
This Art Walk begins with the remarkable work of Philippe Faraut, a sculptor whose talent and dedication have left an indelible mark on the community. Philippe’s works on Main Street range from bronze, cement, composite, and even up-cycled tires. He has developed a composite material for outdoor use that allows the feel of bronze and can be used for large-scale sculptures.
For over 25 years, he has taught sculpting here in Honeoye, across the US, and abroad, including at prestigious institutions like the Grand Central Academy in New York and Pixar in California. He also lectures on forensic facial reconstruction and facial expressions at universities and medical conventions. His works have been exhibited in galleries and competitions throughout the world. Despite his exceptional skill, Philippe is known for his humility and endearing nature, making him a cherished member of our community who continues to teach and inspire students at his Honeoye studio.
In addition to the sculptures, you will also find numerous other works of art along the walk. From photographs taken by nationally acclaimed photographer, Jeanette Klute, located in the library and the Honeoye Museum (located in the Town Hall) to art created by local artisans, displayed in local shops; the walk has something for all artistic tastes.
As you embark on this Art Walk, you will experience the spirit of Honeoye—a community that values and nurtures its artists. The Honeoye Art Walk is more than just an exhibition; it is a growing tradition that we hope will continue to flourish. Check back frequently as we add to The Walk with other area artists. Note: Some of the exhibitions are located in business establishments and viewing is subject to the hours of operation.
We invite you to explore, enjoy, and be inspired by the art that surrounds you. Thank you for joining us on this artistic journey. Enjoy the walk!
