PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A 1970's era single story suburban residence located on a heavily wooded, waterfront site. The house had been expanded and remodeled over the subsequent decades resulting in an incoherent, claustrophobic, dark, and dysfunctional interior. With a modest construction budget, (approx. $82/sf) the interior has been substantially reorganized to create an open, daylit, modern spatial flow. As the photos show, the project essentially became a minimalist exercise in space and light. 

Phase II of the project created a large rear patio extending the width of the rear facade with an outdoor kitchen shaded by a set of steel and fabric pergolas.
