I need to improve my communication skills, so I aim to enhance my verbal and written abilities to ensure that my audience understands my precise words and connects with my message (Anonymous, 2010).

Software Navigation

I desire to learn essential software (Microsoft Excel, Photoshop, and Adobe programs) that are helpful and sought-after across most job fields.

Leadership

I want to build my leadership skills, as leadership affects more aspects of life than just work. Leadership skills will allow me to make better decisions, communicate effectively, and influence teams.

Commissioned Officer

I intend to advance to a more senior position within the military, allowing me to help build and develop young men and women.

Steps to Meet My Goals

To meet my goals, I must organize them as SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (Bjerke & Renger, 2017).

Specific: Specific objectives are straightforward and precise
Measurable: Measurable goals can be tracked and observed
Attainable: Achievable goals must be realistic
Relevant: Relevant goals align with the bigger picture you have established for your life and career
Time-bound: Time-bound goals have a deadline; without them, your goals can become forgotten

My professional aspirations are centered on personal development, which will enable me to contribute more effectively to the needs of others. I require proficient communication skills, a solid understanding of digital literacy and data analysis, and innovative problem-solving abilities to achieve my objectives.

Criminal Justice

Throughout my criminal justice coursework, I have composed intricate papers on contentious issues and delivered comprehensive presentations, which have proven beneficial and will continue to assist me in future contexts, both professionally and personally.
The criminal justice curriculum has equipped me with strategies and methodologies for managing high-pressure situations and de-escalating conflicts and disturbances. I intend to leverage this expertise to lead teams effectively in my future professional endeavors.
