A huge mesh pocket has enough room to store lots of items.
Generous side pockets have room for 2 water bottles.
Straps are adjustable for torso height, and have a pocket.
Drew panel detentions on fabric
Cut out all panels
Marked panels for various component placements
Attached components
Made individual sections (front, side, back etc...)
Assembled sides in 2D configuration
Sewed the final tricky seams to make the full pack
Finished off making the straps
This was by far my most complex sewing project to-date. The pack had to have fully-adjustable straps because I wasn't confident in my sewing or measuring accuracy. it had to have a removable frame so I could use it a couple different ways. It had a particular shape so it could be used as both a backpacking pack, or a small day pack. It had to be cost-efficient, water-resistant, and weight less than 2 pounds.
I did it, but it was nerve-wracking and challenging. There are things I will probably change about it in the future, but I'm satisfied with it for now.
