Graduation Display Boards & Examples
Each parent will receive a tri-fold display board at the mandatory parent meeting in March
Parents will decorate the board (see examples below)
Bring decorated boards to dress rehearsal and set up on the table with your name on it; take HOME at end of the night
These boards will be on display in the reception area at the graduation ceremony
Start thinking about what you want to display.
Your student might be involved in additional activities that require a display board. If your student needs a display board for another event, please let us know. We do not want you to have to create multiple display boards unnecessarily.

Graduation Packet Information Deadline!
This deadline includes:
Graduate Statistical Information
Student Bio's - Below are some examples of how to write a student bio. The bio must be written in accordance with the instructions provided.
Activity Slideshow pictures (3-4 pictures of your student) (click here to see a sample video). - The graduation ceremony includes 2 separate slideshows: Activities Slideshow & Diploma Slideshow. The Activities Slideshow is played during the graduation ceremony. This slideshow is accompanied by music and includes no more than 4 pictures that best represent the student. These pictures can be of the student with family, in scouts, playing sports, participating in clubs, or with friends, etc…
Please ensure that the pictures you submit are high-quality JPEGs. Screenshots will not be accepted. Also, before submitting the pictures, kindly change the file name to your student's name (Ex. ThomasCaleb1, ThomasCaleb2, Thomas,Caleb3, Thomas,Caleb4). This will help us keep the photos organized, which is essential since the person creating the slideshow may not be familiar with your student. We have 79 students in our class, and it's crucial to keep the photos organized. HEIC pictures should be converted to Jpegs before being submitted. Please contact us if you need instructions on how to change the file name of the pictures.
We might not be able to use all submitted pictures due to video length constraints
You can view a sample activities slideshow here
Do not email this information! If you have problems submitting pictures via the Google Form, please email homeedclassof2024@gmail.com or you may text 501-993-3303

WRITING A SENIOR BIO
Submitting your senior's bio in the Google Form will go a lot quicker if you are prepared and have given some thought to what you want to say. The Bio's must be between 75-90 words (no more, no less). You must count your words or risk someone else changing it on your behalf if the deadline has passed. We have attached some examples for your convenience.
The bio should be written by a parent.
Bio Length - must fall between 75-90 words to keep the graduation programs uniform in length. (no more, no less) or risk someone else changing it on your behalf if the deadline has passed.
Bio's that are too short or too long will be returned to the parent for editing. However, if the deadline has passed, the bio will be edited by the volunteer working on the programs.
It is important to ensure that the bio is correct and free from errors
The Committee in charge of the program will thoroughly check for typos, grammatical errors, incomplete sentences, and misspelled words.
The committee reserves the right to make editing changes as needed, including lowering the word count. So, please be sure it's correct if you don't want it changed!
The bio must begin with the senior's name, followed by the parents' names. Then you continue to share your senior's attributes, accomplishments, and goals. Please refer to the examples.

Deadline #1 - due October 31 (Two items are due - Jostens order & Transcript Track Submittion; scroll down for information & assistance)
JOSTENS ORDER INFORMATION
NOTICE: The class sponsors do not have the capability to see if you have turned in your Jostens order and we cannot make changes to your order on your behalf! You MUST make sure you meet this deadline!! We do not advise waiting until the last minute to order in case you have questions that arise that cannot be answered by the deadline.
If you have questions about your order status, you will have to contact Jostens. Their contact information is listed below.
There has been some confusion with the QR codes from Jostens (see attached QR codes). Some of this wasn't explained by Jostens, so please read carefully.
Typeform QR: Order your Diploma, Honor Cords, AND Cap/Gown which includes the Tassel. They will send you a bill after October 31st.
If that is ALL you need, you DO NOT have to order anything on Jostens.com.
The Typeform had to be created for homeschoolers, due to the Diploma and Cords are NOT listed on the Jostens website. (Usually, schools order those for the students, but since we homeschool, they let each individual add this. Then, they will combine both orders manually.)
The Typeform gives you a discount code for a ring, so it's best to fill the Typeform out FIRST if you plan to order a ring.
Jostens.com QR: You can order Cap/Gown/tassel needed if you plan to order other items.
If you ordered Cap/Gown/Tassel on Typeform, you DO NOT have to order through Jostens.com
If you need to order JUST a tassel, you must order that through Jostens.com
You will receive an UPDATED bill after October 31st, as Josten's will combine the TypeForm AND Jostens.com order.
Please note the differences in the QR codes in the picture above. You can use your phone to scan the QR codes.
The QR code on the left is for Jostens.com
The QR code on the right is for the Typeform QR code
Checking the status of your order
!! Currently, you cannot check your order status by scanning the QR code shown in the picture below because Home Educators is not showing up in the Jostens search.
Jostens has created a helpdesk work order to fix this issue. If you try to check the status of your order using the QR code provided below and it does not show any information, please refer to the second picture and use the email address listed to inquire about your order's status. The team will promptly provide you with the necessary information. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope to have the issue resolved soon.

Jostens common ordering questions
I only need the tassel and not the cap or gown. I can't find where to just order the diploma and not everything else.
Answer: Use TypeForm only. Do not fill out height and weight. Click tassel only for $10. They will bill you for a tassel and diploma only. Bill will be sent after Oct 31st.
Can I order only a diploma?
Answer: Yes, scan the QR code for Typeform, answer all questions pertaining to the diploma and skip everything else. All of the other questions do not force you to enter anything in the space provided. (see also - question 5)
I just ordered cap/gown/tassel/cords - does this order go directly to Jostens? When should we expect delivery?
Answer: Yes, the order goes to Josten's. They will deliver all at once in February to the class sponsors. We will pass the items out in March at the mandatory meeting
I ordered the senior package which included the cap, gown, and tassel. I also just filled out the typeform, as well. Will I have to get and be charged for 2 of the cap, gown, and tassel?
Answer: If you filled out the Typeform with height and weight, it may have ordered you two. You can contact Josten's with the email (listed above), and let them know you just need one. They will correct it for you.
I received a white screen after placing my order in typeform - does this mean I am done?
Answer: Yes, it "should" mean that you are done, but to be sure, we HIGHLY recommend that you contact Jostens using the email provided above.
Can the class sponsors make a change to my order on my behalf?
Answer: No, you will have to deal directly with Jostens. The class sponsors do not have access to the Jostens order system. Please do not wait until the last minute!!
This is what you see once you have completed the Typeform.
If you want to confirm your order, we suggest that you send an email to Jostens.
Item #2 for the October 31 Deadline
Transcript Track Submission
All parents must complete the Transcript Track Submission Google Form by October 31.
You will need your member area password to access the Home Ed website's member area. When you paid and/or renewed your Home Ed dues, you received an email immediately that included your password. Be sure to check your spam folder when searching for the email that included your password related to payment/renewal of dues.
Please review Home Ed's new graduation requirements on the Home Ed website then complete the Transcript Track Google Submission Form by October 31.
Home Ed Graduation Requirements:
Can be found on the Home Ed website main page under the "I want to..." tab.
Home Ed is offering two graduation tracks - Traditional & Flex. The traditional track is the same track that Home Ed has always required. The Traditional Track is geared toward the college-bound student. The Flex Track is designed for students who do not plan to attend college.
Transcript Track Submission Form (due Oct 31)
Can be found under the "Highschool" tab in the member area of the Home Ed website
Before submitting the Transcript Track Google form, it would be helpful to have a Home Ed Checklist ready because it's in the same format. You can use any record-keeping format that you prefer, but Home Ed also provides transcript checklist resources to assist you.
Traditional Track
This track is intended for students who plan to attend college. We recommend that students who want to go to college follow the Traditional Track.
You must submit your student's transcript to Home Ed/Class of 2024 Class Sponsors by Oct 31 using the Google Form in the member area of the Home Ed website.
The process will be quicker if you already have your student's credits/classes written on a Home Ed Transcript checklist form.
Once you're ready to submit your student's transcript, go to the Home Ed website, log in to the member area, and look under the Highschool tab for Transcript Track Submission.
Flex Track
This track is designed for students who do not plan to attend college
Parents must complete a Google Form indicating the graduation track they have chosen for their student. This form can be found in the member area of the Home Ed Website.
Transcript "Checklist" Resource options
Additional transcript checklist resources can be found on the Home Ed website in the member area under the Highschool tab. - The transcript link below is just a sample that you can use.
Official Transcripts
If you are looking for an official-looking transcript for your college-bound student, Education Alliance is an excellent choice. Their transcripts have a professional look, and the best part is that Education Alliance keeps copies of your student's transcript indefinitely. This service has proven to be very valuable for some students who need a copy of their transcript later in their college career.
Did you miss the October 10, mandatory parent meeting?
As a reminder, if you did not attend the mandatory parent meeting on Oct 10th, it is imperative that you watch the replay video, complete the volunteer forms, and email us to confirm that you have reviewed all of the material that was discussed.
Oct 10, Mandatory Parent Meeting
Documents referenced in this video are located at the top of this webpage.
NOTE FROM CLASS SPONSORS (please read carefully)
Our class has grown to 79 graduates, and we have several CRUCIAL deadlines coming up. It is essential to keep yourself informed and avoid waiting until the last minute. The class volunteers require this information by the deadlines to prepare for graduation properly. Check this website continually!
Missing a deadline will most likely mean your student will NOT be featured in a graduation video or the graduation printed program. If you miss the Jostens deadline, your student might not receive their diploma or cap/gown in time for graduation. It is VERY important to meet the deadlines.
Missed deadlines also cause undue burden and stress on the class sponsors and volunteers
Thank you for your cooperation!
March 30th
Diploma Slideshow Deadline
The graduation ceremony includes 2 separate slideshows: Activities Slideshow & Diploma Slideshow
The diploma slide show consists of -
1 baby/toddler picture
1 senior picture - a head and shoulders pose will look best and is what the majority of parents use.
The Diploma Slideshow is played when the diploma is presented to the graduate.
NOTE: These are the same pictures that will be used in the printed graduation program that will be handed out to friends and family when they enter the auditorium.
Pictures should be good-quality JPEGs. Screenshots will not be accepted. Before submiting pictures, please change the file name so that it reflects your student's name so that we can keep them organized - this is very important because the person creating the slideshow might not be familiar with your student.
