Sponsor Information

"Who do I want to ask to be my confirmation sponsor?" 

A baptismal sponsor is the preferred choice according to canon law. However, some important questions need to be asked...

The Sponsor should be:

• A Fully initiated Catholic (one who has celebrated Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). 

• At least 18 years of age.

• Live close enough to you that you can meet together.

• Not be bound by any church penalty.

• Attends mass regularly.

• Someone you admire & can talk openly with.

• Not be the parent of the student to be confirmed.

If your baptismal sponsor does not fulfill these requirements, then perhaps you should consider someone else. If you are having a problem deciding on someone, please let your teacher or the DRE know. 

You should have selected your sponsor by Nov 6th! 

We will be asking you and your sponsor to meet approximately 4-5 time to complete some faith sharing exercises. 

You and your sponsor will be given more information on these exercises at the sponsor meeting.
