Inside Me is a comprehensive empowerment initiative dedicated to the holistic development of visually impaired students. Rooted in the core belief that education and livelihood are deeply interconnected, the program is designed to nurture conceptual clarity, creative expression, emotional well-being and employable skills ensuring long-term independence and dignity.
A strong grasp of concepts is essential for mastering any subject or profession. In India, most schools for the blind offer academic education across subjects but traditionally exclude art and visual expression from the curriculum. Inside Me addresses this critical gap by introducing drawing and visualization-based learning adapted for visually impaired students. Through tactile tools, guided drawing, and structured imagination techniques, students learn to visualize shapes, objects, spaces and ideas. This not only enhances their understanding of classroom subjects such as mathematics, science, and geography, but also strengthens cognitive abilities, creativity and self-confidence.
Beyond academics, the initiative places equal emphasis on early preparation for livelihood skills. By integrating education with practical, skill-oriented training from a young age, students are better equipped to transition into self-sustaining careers later in life. This approach helps break the cycle of dependency and opens pathways toward meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.
The program operates as part of the Holistic Healing Advance Project, a CSR initiative by TFCI Limited, and is being implemented at the Institution for the Blind, Amar Colony. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to inclusive education, innovation and social impact.
At Inside Me, we deeply understand the unique challenges faced by visually impaired students academic, social, and economic. Our work focuses on early intervention, sustained mentoring and skill development, enabling students to face future challenges with resilience and confidence.
Our mission is to bridge the divide between the sighted and non-sighted worlds by creating an inclusive learning ecosystem where visually impaired students can learn, create, earn, and lead. We envision a future where they are empowered, self-reliant and respected contributors to society, thriving in both education and livelihood free from lifelong dependence on charity or donations.
