Discussion – 5 points - 50 words minimum
Is there anyone in the Harry Potter books or movies who was sorted into Ravenclaw, but you think they'd be a better fit for a different house? If so, why? If no one, why?
Pick one, and only one, of the following three options. Each one is worth 30 points.
Writing Option - 300 words minimum
Creativity is one of the traits valued by Rowena Ravenclaw. In this option I am giving you almost total free rein to let your creativity loose. Write me a story, song, poem related to Ravenclaw house. It could be the diary of a first year Ravenclaw student, an outside-looking-in view of the house from a Gryffindor, a love poem to Helena written by The Bloody Baron, so long as there is some form of connection to Ravenclaw house, you can write about whatever you wish. Minimum of 30 lines if you are writing a poem or song. Minimum of 300 words if you are writing a story.
Graphics Option
As we know from the books, Xenophilius Lovegood attempted to recreate the Lost Diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw by using things like wrackspurt siphons and billywig propellors…… I am sure you lot could do better. I want you to recreate the diadem using everyday items (silver, gold and jewels do not count as ‘everyday items’). You can create this at home, and take a photo of it, or use a graphics program to create a drawing of your creation. Upload to an image hosting site and send in the link. Do not send as an attachment, it will not be opened.
Puzzle Option
I am sure many of us have wondered if we would be able to answer correctly and make it into the Ravenclaw Common Room. Well, here is your chance to find out. Below are 5 riddles. Simply send in the answers. You will receive 6 points for every correct answer. Hint: these are all connected to Hogwarts and/or the wizarding world in general.
1. Arms and legs, I have none. I am unique – the only one. I tell it true, I tell it clear. But it may not be what you wish to hear. What am I?
2. Late at night when you’re asleep, and feeling rather chilly. Reaching for a blanket without looking would be rather silly. What am I?
3. Loose a point and you're all wet.
4. Anything you need, I have got. But am I here, or am I not? Thrice you speak for what you seek. Where am I?
5. More pretty green, but this one nice and warm. Just say it right, or you may end up lost and forlorn. What am I?
