Proud of Our Past, Focused on the Future
As a former teacher in this district and the parent of two students currently in middle and high school, I have a deep commitment to the educational system in Fort Mill. The outstanding quality of the schools was a major factor in our decision to move here. I am a strong advocate for public education and am dedicated to enhancing our schools even further. While we’ve made significant progress, I believe there is still more we can achieve together.
I am deeply concerned about the well-being of our teachers and support staff. To retain the most talented educators, we need to offer competitive salaries and better benefits than neighboring districts. With teachers leaving at an alarming rate, it’s crucial that we take steps to reduce their burden, ensuring they can leave work at school without bringing it home and their state mandated unencumbered time is uninterrupted. Our district motto is "Children First," and achieving this goal is impossible without the dedicated efforts of our teachers and support staff.
As a graduate of South Carolina's largest high school, I know firsthand how crucial it is to be more than just a number. As Fort Mill continues to grow, I am dedicated to preserving the excellence of our school district while maintaining the close-knit, small-town feel. Investing in our students' futures is the highest priority, which is why I am running for the Fort Mill School Board.
