Today we kicked off our Olympics week of camp by introducing ourselves and our 3 golden rules; listen to your coaches, follow all instructions, and most importantly have fun. We divided our group into 3 teams which they will be in for the rest of the week to compete for the title of Olympic champion. We started the teams off by playing a few games which racked in a few points for them and their team. This lead into a few breaks, snack time, and lunch. Our craft for today was for each team to design a flag with their team name. Over the week they will get the chance to earn points for their team and get to put them in their flag headquarter.
Olympic Camp: Day 2
Todays Olympic camp schedule went a little bit different. Today we started off with arts and crafts and our campers each made their own Olympic windsock. We then went on to play games like the floor is lava, lava monster, and everyone’s favorite scatterball!
Olympic Camp Day Three:
Today our Olympians practiced some Track & Field and Curling for the Olympics to earn coins and medals for their team.
Olympic Camp Day 4
Todays Olympic camp started off with a thunderstorm so we decided what a better way to have fun then to play in the puddles when all the rain stopped! We played games like balloon drop, scatterball, and a partner obstacle course where one partner is blindfolded and the other has to guide them through the course. Todays craft was for each camper to design their own Olympic medal!
Olympic Camp Day 5
The closing ceremony to the Olympics started out with a few karate filled Olympic games. Which lead into scatterball. We closed out the Olympics with water fun Friday. Our campers started out with a water gun battle. They then went on to play the sponge relay, the cup game, and duck duck soak. Finally we let our campers dump a bucket of water all over coach Erin’s head, and hug Master Holt! Each camper received a medal that they made and an Olympic gold medal!
