AYC Birthday Regatta, Feb 2024

The 2024 Birthday regatta hosted by the Arizona Yacht Club was 3 days of sailing, 2 days of racing on Lake Pleasant Arizona.  

Most of the multi-hull fleet arrived at Lake Pleasant Marina Friday night with the fleet joining AYC for Taco dinner.  

Saturday sailing was light conditions, with the wind starting from the North as usual.  Mike Ferring did a great job of setting the course, with a time out around noon to let the wind switch direction to the south.  The Hobie Waves were in a separate regatta, with 4-5 Waves signed up for the regatta.

Sunday started with a bang, the wind just under white caps when we got on the water, definitely a bit chillier than Saturday.  Great fun leading up to the first race and reasonable wind through the races.
