Throughout Module 2, I have learned about the TPACK, UDL, and SAMR models and how, when they are all combined, allow for teachers to effectively and powerfully use technology with their students. This page displays my personal technology integration framework and how I plan to incorporate it into my classroom. My framework is based on how teachers must first do their own research and learning on the different types of technological tools that can be used in the classroom. Educators then pass these tools on to their students who are able to explore and choose different tools that challenge them and allow them to learn in whatever way works best for them.
For my concept map, I thought about technology integration through the lens of what educators' and students' needs and abilities. I broke down what educators need to understand and do in order for technology to be effectively used as a didactic tool. I placed an arrow between educators and students because this demonstrates how teachers' knowledge will be transferred to students. For students, I laid out what they should be taught and what they should be able to do with the technology they have access to. I included that teachers must utilize UDL, SAMR, and TPACK models in order to fully and powerfully integrate technology into their classrooms. Teachers must have a masterful understanding of their curriculum and pedagogy (TPACK), the stages of technology integration (SAMR), as well as diverse ways for students to learn using the technology of their choice (UDL).
This concept map was made using Bubbl.us.
The manipulated image I created represents the technological knowledge that is passed from the teacher (beehive) to their students (bees). The arrow from the hive represents the skills teachers give their students and the arrow from the bees represents the new skills students will learn and use to demonstrate their knowledge with the world around them.
