Warm Up Project

This year we will be doing something slightly different for warm ups at the start of class. Everyday 1 student will present an exercise from the book "Basics" to the class.

Project:

• Students will read through "Basics" and pick an exercise to present to the class. Take a picture of the warm up you intend to present so you read through it again. Sign up for which exercise you will present here!
• Students will fill out the handout "Warmup Project Presentation"
• Students should have a firm understanding of how to:
  • Play the exercise
  • What technique the exercise emphasis
  • How to teach it to the class
• Your presentation should last between 5 and 10 minutes. You can model or have assistants as need be but only the student is presenting.

Grading:

This grade will be the equivalent to a SmartMusic quiz. Students who present a concise and clear presentation will receive an A.

If you do not play the violin you should adapt the the technique or warm-up idea to your instrument. Violin technique is similar to all string technique.
