This is my 2nd year at Herndon Middle School and I am so excited to be a HAWK! I am a graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and George Mason University. I’ve been in Fairfax County for over 20 years and have 3 kids that all went to Herndon Middle. I love this community and am passionate about helping every student reach their highest potential. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking with friends, and reading.

I am proud to call Herndon Middle School my home, GO HAWKS! I am originally from Washington DC and grew up right here in Fairfax County. I have been a school counselor for 10 years but have been working with students for almost 20 years. Since I was very young I knew I wanted to be in a helping profession. It has been rewarding helping others find a solution to a problem. Now, my passion is helping each and every student identify their strengths, adopt a growth mindset and reach their full potential.
When I am not at work, I like to spend time with my husband and our 4 year old daughter, Corinne. I also love spending quality time with friends and family (I am the oldest of 6), traveling the world, and trying out a new recipe.

I’m excited to be back at Herndon Middle School for my fifth year! I was born and raised in Fairfax County and received my degrees from Radford and George Mason University. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, running, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I am also a huge Washington sports fan and love participating in fantasy football. I can’t wait to meet all the new Hawks!

I am excited for another year as the Herndon Middle School Director of Student Services! A little bit about me-- I am a proud Virginia Commonwealth University and George Mason University Alumna. I began my journey in education fourteen years ago, as a Secondary Language Arts Teacher in Prince William County, VA. In 2011, I accepted a High School English Teaching position within Fairfax County Public Schools. Most recently, I served the West Potomac High School community as a School Counselor for four years. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about working with diverse student populations—supporting students’ academic success and fostering positive relationships to create a caring culture for all students. I look forward to continuing my passion for helping students and families here at Herndon Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy the company of my family and friends. My husband and I have a three year-old daughter who is our pride and joy!
