So you're ready to sign up for an amazing, inclusive, adventurous team, to learn the meaning of GRIT and to discover how strong you really are! Here are the details:
Who can join:
Incoming 6th through 12th grade students in the Hopkins School District.
There are two different tracks:
Racing
Adventure (no racing)
Practices:
Our team practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings riding the mountain bike trails at Theodore Wirth from 5 to 7 p.m. Time will be adjusted to accommodate school schedules and earlier sunsets. We meet at the Beach House at Theodore Wirth Parkway. In addition, optional captain's practices will take place on either Monday or Wednesday of each week.
We start practicing in July and continue practicing until the State race October 11-12.
All riders (Racing and Adventure) practice together as one Hopkins MTB Team.
Races:
Hopkins MTB Team participates in four regular season races at various places around the state, plus the State race to conclude the season. The full racing series is here. The MCA will assign the Hopkins MTB Team to its four regular season races in the spring. Middle school (6-8th grade) riders race on Saturday, high school (9-12th) riders race on Sunday.
Costs:
If you are racing: the cost includes an MCA fee, race registration fee and Hopkins team fee.
MCA Fees:
MCA Registration Fee: $100
Race Registration Fees: NEW this year, save by registering early:
April 1-May 15: $50 per race/$150 Superpass (for race registration)
May 16-July 1: $55 per race/$160 Superpass
July 2-August 1: $60 per race/$170 Superpass
Hopkins Team Fees: NEW this year, we are offering a multi-rider discount for families:
1 rider = $105
2 riders = $160
3 riders = $198
4 riders = $200
If you are joining us on the Adventure Track (just practices, no racing): the cost includes the MCA Registration Fee and the Hopkins Team Fee.
Financial Assistance is available.
Costs include: team t-shirt, pasta parties the week of races and an end-of-season banquet.
Gear needed:
Mountain bike: You must provide your own mountain bike. If you don't have access to one, the league has a limited number of loaners available. If you need one, please email hopkinsmountainbiketeam@gmail.com

All racers need to wear either a Hopkins race jersey or the complimentary team t-shirt during the race. Most racers wear a jersey. Jersey sales open in the summer and you must order early to receive jerseys in time for the first race. Make sure you are receiveing our emails so you are alerted to jersey sales.
