Hearing Aid Compatibility

Hearing Aid and Cellphone compatibility with phones is an important consideration. The hearing aid's ability to reject radio frequency (RF) noise that may be caused by a cellphone or other sources impacts how clearly speech is heard on a call. Check with the OTC hearing aid manufacturer for specifications.

From the opposite view, a phone's compatibility with hearing aids is also important. When shopping for a phone, check its Hearing Aid Compatibility rating on manufacturer's website.

We recommend checking how well it works with the hearing aid's microphone and how well it works with the hearing aid's telecoil, if it has one. The ratings are "T" for telecoil compatibility and "M" for microphone compatibility and the range of each is from 1 (worst) to 4 (best) e.g. M4 and T4 are the highest ratings.
