Bio

Hakeoung Hannah Lee is a Ph.D. student in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education Program at the University of Texas at Austin (Fall 2021 - Expected Summer 2025). She received a Master of Science in Statistics from the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research examines Learning Analytics in the STEM learning context from a situated and embodied perspective. She has been awarded the Graduate School Full Package Recruitment Fellowship, the Texas New Scholars Fellowship, the Korean Government Scholarship, Gwanjeong Education Foundation Scholarship, and the Addison E. Lee endowed fellowship. Her work was funded by the Good Systems Graduate Fellowship, PIs' NSF projects, and the STEM Education and C&I departments. Additionally, she has teaching experience at UT Dell Medical School and UT College of Education.

Hannah has published in various journals and proceedings, including the Journal of Learning Analytics, the Journal of the Korean Association of Information Education, Proceedings of the International Conference of the Learning Sciences, Proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association, and Proceedings of the International Conference on Computer Analysis of Images and Patterns.

She has been the recipient of numerous esteemed accolades and honors. This includes the Talent Award of Korea (awarded by the Minister of the Korean Ministry of Education), the Minister of the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT Award, the Minister of the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Award, and the President of the National Universities of Education President's Council Award.

Currently, Hannah serves as a reviewer for ICLS, AERA, and the International Journal of STEM Education, and she is a founding member and director of research for the Society of Technology for Education and Learning Analytics (STELA). She is also a member of the board for the Korean Edutech / Learning Sciences Researchers Network (KELS) and serves as the vice president of the Korean Student Association at the University of Texas at Austin (UTKSA).

In the cozy corners of her life, two whiskered friends hold a special place. Her delightful duo consists of Merry (above), from South Korea, and Christmas (below), from Austin, TX (rescued in 2021). Merry Christmas!
