Jewelyn Mims is a second year graduate student at California State University, Los Angeles pursing a Masters of History degree. She graduated from the University of California, Riverside, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, specializing in ancient Greece and Rome. Her academic and career interests include history, museum and public education programs, teaching, literature, art, and film. As a native of California and lifelong resident of Los Angeles County, Jewelyn is especially attracted to studying and investigating the social, cultural, and environmental history of her community.
Moisés is beginning his final semester of the M.A. program at Cal State Los Angeles. He graduated from University of California Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of arts degree in history. His research identifies hemispheric flows and diasporic connections between Los Angeles and east Asian financial markets, Latin American immigration, and evolving conceptions of community participation. His most reent work focuses on networks utilized by landlords and tenants to shape the built environment.
Christopher Gurrola received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History at California State University, Los Angeles. He is currently a first year graduate student at CAL STATE LA where he is pursuing a Masters of History degree. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Christopher is interested in researching about the development of the city and its influence on Mexican-American communities and culture."
Esmeralda is a first year graduate student at California State University, Los Angeles pursuing her Master's Degree in History. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's of Arts dual degree in History and English Literature. She has worked closely in tutoring K-12 students in her community. Her research interests include: Mexican and Chinese Histories with a focus on gender.
