Our "garden to table" component of the project is to inspire community members to share recipes and gardening tips centered on locally grown edible plants that are climate specific to Southern California and Los Angeles.

When urban communities have access to food grown locally and sustainably with an environmental consciousness it results in benefits that are multi-layered. Growing climate specific edible plants can improve soil health, promote higher levels of wellness among urban populations, and help bolster small local economies. Sharing recipes and food grown in backyard gardens, school community gardens or local homesteading, can inspire knowledge that can be passed on to future generations.
