In general, when thinking about muscle, you want to think of it as a tube that is able to shorten in length by CONTRACTING. Just like epithelium, muscular tissue is also specialised in its structure to fulfil different functions. Muscle can be subdivided based on these structures and functions into – skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle.
