In our laboratory, we aim to cultivate a “research mindset” tailored to each student’s future career path. While the term “research mindset” is inherently ambiguous and open to interpretation, we provisionally define it as the attitude of formulating falsifiable questions independently in pursuit of a given objective, and making every effort to resolve them.
We believe that such an attitude is essential not only for pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists but also for individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society at large. Through research activities in our laboratory, we strive to nurture this research mindset and to develop skills that will benefit students in their future careers.
At the same time, research itself is a source of intellectual curiosity. Engaging in research means becoming one of the first individuals to witness results that no one has ever seen before. We hope that students will experience such excitements and fascinations of research through such opportunities.
Our educational and research activities are driven by these two pillars: the cultivation of a research mindset and the stimulation of intellectual curiosity.
