Our Mission : Material Science × Nano Surface Science ➔ Desired Future

In an era where advancements in nanotechnology and the pursuit of carbon neutrality are becoming key benchmarks for technological development, the importance of innovative nanomaterial synthesis techniques and materials science dealing with surface and interfacial phenomena is growing more than ever. Our laboratory approaches materials from an atomic-scale perspective, even smaller than the nanoscale, aiming to create the "ultimate surface" and contribute to fields such as information technology, nanotechnology, energy, and medicine.
Furthermore, to cultivate research capabilities, human qualities, and social awareness that are globally relevant, our laboratory actively engages in international collaborations and participates in international conferences. In the 2024 academic year, we attended conferences in Taiwan, Germany, and India.

2024.6.19　研究室の共同運営者である大竹教授が初代東京科学大学理事長に選出されました。おめでとうございます。

2024.5.17　4月14日、4月24日、5月11日、5月17日の4回にわたり、大学院入試のための研究室見学会を行いました。

2024.4.02　大竹・平田研に新M1 2名、新B4 1名がメンバーに加わりました。2024年度はD 3名、M2 2名、M1 3名、B4 1名の計9名体制になります
