John Rimington Wilson
John Rimington was born in 1760 and died in 1820. He was an Attorney working on Angel Street in Sheffield. He married Mary Wilson of Broomhead Hall in 1784.
In 1802 John acquired the Bolsterstone Manor and Estate from Lord Melbourne for £35,000. Details about the estate and sale are at: Stocksbridge Historical Society
He would have presumably lived at Hillsborough Hall sometime between 1801, when the property was disposed of by Broughton Steade, and 1820 when he died.
His widow, Mary, in turn sold it in 1838 to John Rodgers of the cutlery firm Joseph Rogers & Sons.
