Cooking Fun at Hillgrove 🍳🍚

Do you smell the fragrance lingering in the air? 👃✨ The Parent Support Group Executive Committee had a blast guiding Hillgrovians in cooking delicious fried rice! 🍳🥢 The students enjoyed it so much, they even asked to whip up another round. It was a wonderful mix of learning, laughter, and yummy food! 😋

Racial Harmony Day  -  23 Jul 2025

The Parent Support Group Executive Committee was happy to support Hillgrove’s Racial Harmony Day celebrations! We helped to man the fun game booths like crossword puzzles, fill in the blanks, and word search, plus snack booths for students to enjoy. Through these activities, students learned more about the diverse cultures of the Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian communities in Singapore. It was wonderful to see everyone learning, playing, and celebrating our rich cultural diversity.

Hari Raya Celebrations  -  16 Apr 2025

The Parent Support Group Executive Committee was honoured to be invited to join the school’s Hari Raya celebrations! 💚We also made a Hari Raya greeting video that was featured at the school's celebrations.  We were also happy to add to the festive cheer by decorating the school canteen with colourful Hari Raya decorations—and even making big ketupats as part of the décor. It was a joy to celebrate this special occasion together with the Hillgrovian family! 🎉

March Holiday Programme for HGVSS Environment Advocates  -  8 and 18 Mar 2025

During the March holidays, the PSG and Hillgrove Secondary School Environment Advocates came together to create pouches from used food wrappers and beverage packaging as part of their holiday programme. This simple yet creative activity not only gave discarded materials a second life but also promoted sustainability by reducing wastage. Each pouch made was a small step towards cutting down pollution, conserving resources, and inspiring others to rethink how they use and dispose of packaging. More importantly, working together during the holidays strengthened the students’ sense of teamwork and their collective commitment to protecting the environment. Through this shared effort, they contributed meaningfully to the mission of saving Gaia for future generations.

Partners' Meeting -  12 Feb 2025

The Partners’ Meeting provided a key platform for School Leaders to connect with Parent Support Group (PSG) members and discuss school matters. It also introduced the PSG Executive Committee, fostering stronger ties among members. The session welcomed new parents, while also showcasing the PSG’s role and contributions to potential parents, strengthening partnerships within the school community.

Chinese New Year Celebrations -  28 Jan 2025

This year, the Parent Support Group (PSG) celebrated Chinese New Year with joy and enthusiasm, embracing the spirit of the Year of the Snake. In the lead-up to the festivities, the PSG helped transform the school canteen with vibrant decorations, bringing a festive atmosphere to the heart of Hillgrove Secondary School. They also packed and distributed mandarin oranges to the staff, symbolising good fortune and prosperity. Adding to the celebrations, the PSG had the honour of serving as judges for the school’s class decoration competition, where creativity and teamwork shone brightly. To round off the occasion, they prepared a heartfelt greeting message video, extending warm wishes to all staff and students for a year filled with happiness, success, and good health.

Principal's Talk cum Meet-up with Form Teachers  -  17 Jan 2025

The PSG came together to support the Principal’s Talk for new Secondary 1 parents. Our Executive Committee members shared about the PSG’s role and activities, warmly encouraging new parents to join us. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, build relationships, and grow our supportive Hillgrovian community.
